North Shore

We loved visiting the North Shore, especially swimming at Waimea Bay and getting Matsumoto's Shave Ice with the family.

Okay, they were dolphins that came within 50 ft from the shore

That is not me jumping from Waimea Rock, but I have jumped before, with less styleCora enjoying the nice water

Lighthouse

We decided to visit the Makapu'u lighthouse after Kailua Beach. It was early evening by the time we got there, and the gates were going to close, so we had to hurry up the hill. For those of you who've been there, this is not a tiny hill. It probably would've been easier if I wasn't in rubber slippers pushing Cora's stroller and running every now and again. By the time we got to the top, it was worth it. The view is awesome.

I wish we had not gone so late because of the light. However, When you see the immensity of the ocean you realize how little we are and how beautiful God made this earth for us.

The waves pounding against the rocksIt was very windy, but we managed to take this picture of us.

Family

It's been a while since everyone has been together, so we decided it would be a good idea to get some pictures out of it. Much mahalos to David and Carol's friend who took the pics!

Pearl Harbor

We got to spend a few hours visiting the USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor with Pono, who just returned from a mission in Japan, and Mimo, who was celebrating a birthday. Cora had fun taking the ferry out to the memorial. They were raising a new flag when we got there. It's always humbling to realize all the lives lost during that tragic time in our Nation's history. We are grateful for those men and women who risk their lives each day to protect our freedoms.
